Arabic Designs

I have become very fascinated lately with Arabic design specifically those with one continuous line for the designI found the design I wanted to try and here are the results.
I thought it might intrest someone on the process of how I did this.
This is my design taped to a window to transfer onto my fabricI chose a poly/cottton blend off white shirtingDon't know why I had shirting but I do
I backed my design with a very thin quilt batting because I had planned to do some shadow quilting to match the design.

Here are the beautiful beads I got as a gift from my sister who sent me a lovely package in the mail with all things beady and good! They remind me of mosaic colors! I took them off the sting as is.

once my design was finished being beaded I then hand quilted on either side of the beaded design,, with the same pattern as the design itself.....I have said design WAAAY too many times in this post! lol
A light pressing and viola!
For those of you who had the misfortune of reading this blog yesterday I apologize I was having trouble uploading pictures.  Have a lovely day!

  2. This scroll pattern is fascinating! Your choice of the blue beads is perfect to me because the design reminds me of the constant rolling waves of the ocean.

Thank you so much for all the love you have sent to me on my blog. It took me a while to track you down (your email doesn't come over with your comment), but I'm so glad I found you now!

To answer your question about Hannah's schooling, yes she is attending another school. Her and I have temporarily moved into another school district just so she can attend a school where she is safe. its been a tough journey and I just wish I knew when and how its all going to end, if ever!

  5. I love this! Like lynn said first thing I thought of was the waves. Your embroidery is wonderful. Regarding your comment, from what I see your already doing it! I want to be able to use more background in my pieces, and less stitching, but I never can seem to get it there. So I think we all look at others pieces, and think we wish we could dot that.
